GPC and USAID Together for Sustainable Energy in Nine Tunisian Municipalities

As part of its commitment to promoting access to clean and affordable energy, GPC is collaborating with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to install photovoltaic systems in nine Tunisian municipalities : Mahdia, Sers, Zaghouan, El Alaa, Ghomrassen, Tina, Kebili (two municipalities) and Tataouine. This initiative aims to free these municipalities from traditional energy costs by providing them with a clean and renewable source of electricity, while helping them reduce their electricity bills to zero.

The installed photovoltaic systems are designed to seamlessly align with the energy needs of the municipalities. This success is the result of the expertise of the technical team and the engineering team. Thanks to these combined efforts, the total production of these systems reaches a remarkable quantity of 147 MWh per year, thus ensuring significant energy autonomy for these communities.

In addition to the economic benefits for the municipalities, this initiative contributes positively to the environment by generating electricity without CO2 emissions. The photovoltaic installations thus play a crucial role in environmental conservation and in securing a more sustainable future for generations to come.
